What can we do? – Plastic and oceans waste
Did you know that...
If we do not take any action now, by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea?

Cigarettes, plastic bags and cotton buds are the most abundant marine litter. Plastic never disappears in nature, it degrades into microparticles and accumulates in the ocean. What floats, clusters into huge floating dumps. There is a plastic island in the Pacific, larger than the Iberian Peninsula. Plastic bags and other plastic waste kills 1,000,000 sea creatures each year.
Annually, 13 million tons of plastic is deposited forever in the ocean.
GOOD PRACTICE
1. Refuse disposable plastic items, such as bags or straws.

2. Do not use disposable cutlery, plates or glasses.

3. Pack your snack in glass, bamboo or stainless steel containers or use reusable bags or even cloth napkins.

4. Use fountains or your reusable bottle/flask to drink water.

5. Have your own reusable mug at your workplace.

6. If you find litter on the floor, pick it up and put it in the correct bin.

7. Do not throw cigarette butts on the floor.

8. When shopping, use cloth bags or other reusable bags.

9. When buying packaged products, avoid plastic and prefer cardboard and glass packaging.
